The Artisan Behind the Roaster

At Latitude 23.5 Coffee & Tea, we don’t believe in shortcuts. Our lead roaster, Béla Csepregi, author of The Café Diet: The Coffee Lovers Guide to Sustainable Fat Loss, brings over 20 years of experience and a passion for sourcing and roasting coffees with character. Originally from Hungary, Béla draws on his European heritage and international roasting experience to craft distinctive roast profiles that balance tradition and innovation. Every roast is developed in-house, with great care given to bean origin, moisture content, and the final flavor experience.

“Roasting is part science, part instinct, and always a dialogue with the bean.”

— Béla Csepregi

🛠️ Small Batch. Big Difference.

Unlike mass-produced coffee, we roast in small batches to ensure every bean gets the attention it deserves. This approach allows us to:

  • Monitor flavor development precisely 🌡️
  • Highlight the unique notes of each origin 🎯
  • Adjust roast profiles based on freshness and seasonality 🌍

Whether it’s our bold Espresso Tempesta, smooth Sulawesi Arabica, or vibrant Flavored Coffee Collection, each batch is handcrafted for optimal aroma, body, and balance.

🧑🌾 A Deeper Connection to the Source

Our roaster doesn’t just work with beans, they work with stories. Many of our coffees are farm-direct, meaning we build long-term relationships with growers. This connection gives our roaster insight into how the beans were grown, harvested, and processed, essential knowledge that informs the final roast.

☕ Why It Matters to You

The roast makes or breaks the coffee. It’s where sweetness, acidity, and complexity are either preserved or lost. Thanks to our roaster’s expertise:

  • Organic beans retain their purity
  • Low acid roasts are easier on the stomach
  • Every sip delivers rich, vibrant flavors

Whether you’re brewing a Cold Brew Sachet, popping in a K-Cup, or sipping from your favorite mug, the difference is in the details, and the purpose behind each batch.

🔁 From Our Roaster to Your Cup

We believe coffee should be personal, not mechanical. That’s why we roast with purpose, to connect you to something richer than caffeine alone.
